Tambuwal loses 250 aides to APC

Two hundred and fifty two (250) special advisers and special assistants to Sokoto State Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal have resigned  their appointments.

Addressing a press conference yesterday, they hinged their decision on the recent defection from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) by Tambuwal and his “abysmal performance” in the state.

The former aides, who also returned to the APC, added that “We have every reason not to follow him to his new party because he betrayed and disappointed the people of Sokoto State due to his abysmal performance.

“We thought the Governor would make a difference being a former number four citizen but his tenure is one of the worst that ever happened to the people of Sokoto state,” they alleged.

One of the former advisers, Ibrahim Dasuki Haske, said they represented the 23 local government areas and they are still in APC.

Haske, who spoke on behalf of all the aides, said “Our appointment is based on the position that APC is the political party governing the state and now that the government belongs to PDP, we have no option other than to resign.

“We are bonafide members of APC and our position has always remained same; we therefore resign voluntarily from the PDP government.”

Haske reiterated their desire to support APC to deliver on its mandate  after the  2019 general elections.

Another former aide, Abdullahi Ahmad said “we are confident that we will win all elective positions in the state come 2019.”

They all reaffirmed their loyalty and support to President Muhammadu Buhari and the leader of APC in the state, Senator Aliyu Wamakko.

Speaking, the state chairman of APC, Alhaji Isa Bashir Achida  thanked them for their decision to remain in the party and assured them that they would be carried along in the activities of the party.
