A team of police detectives from the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) command in Abuja, has arrested seven suspects after the team discovered a cache of arms in a private clinic in Kubwa, Abuja.
City News gathered that the operation took place at the clinic around Phase 3, Kubwa, on Wednesday.
Our reporter who visited the area yesterday gathered that the hospital was sealed up while its medical director, who was not available during the raid, was still at large.
Some residents who spoke to our reporter under condition of anonymity said the detectives arrived the area around 11:00a.m. last Wednesday and spent about one hour searching the hospital.
A source privy to the operation revealed that the police later came out with four Ak 47, ammunitions, face masks, and also some hospital equipment, which were taken to the command.
The source further revealed that the operation followed the earlier arrest of a man who was in the process of acquiring new documents for a stolen vehicle in the FCT, and that in the course of investigation, he led the detectives to the facility.
When contacted, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Kubwa, CSP Ayobami Surajudeen, who confirmed the incident, said the detectives registered their presence with the division on arrival for the operation.
