A former deputy speaker of the House of Representatives, Chibudom Nwuche, has said that the recent gale of defections that affected the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is a consequence of injustice.
Nwuche, who spoke with our reporter in Port Harcourt, Rivers State at the weekend, said people would defect when some prominent members within a political party saw themselves as the owners of a party and others as outsiders.
The former federal lawmaker, who said politics is voluntary, added that those denied a sense of belonging in a particular political party have the right to seek solace in any place where they could get it.
He condemned a situation where prominent leaders of the APC occupying positions of authority in government used such positions to witch-hunt and victimize their perceived political enemies.
