The senator representing Southern Kaduna District in the National Assembly, Danjuma La’ah, has said more social services and amenities by the Federal Government including schools and hospitals are needed to make people feel at home in his district.
Senator La’ah who made the appeal in a statement in Abuja, said social infrastructure played a distinct role in supporting the wellbeing of communities and urged the Federal Government to come to the aid of people in the district by increasing social services to create a sense of belonging.
The senator, who said he recently worked with federal authorities in the establishment of a secondary school in the area, also disclosed that he had written a letter to the Minister of Health requesting for the establishment a Federal Medical Centre “to augment the services of the existing few state hospitals in the area.”
He said the presence of the centre in the district would help greatly in providing the desired health outcomes because “many people are dying of preventable diseases due to the absence of affordable medical and health facilities.”
