A legal luminary and spokesman of the Buhari Campaign Organisation, Mr Festus Keyamo (SAN), yesterday charged Nigerians to pay back President Muhammadu Buhari’s good intention by supporting and voting for him again in the 2019 general elections to enable him continue his good work for the nation.
Keyamo gave the charge, yesterday, in Ilorin while delivering a lecture at an event organised by the Buhari and Osinbajo Project 2019 which also witnessed the inauguration of ward/local government canvassers.
He said President Buhari had been “receiving bullets from the rich who had been prevented from stealing Nigeria’s resources to protect the poor”.
“Nigerians should reciprocate what Buhari is doing for us by supporting him for the second term. Buhari and Osinbajo require our support for us to continue to enjoy the good work they started and to complete them,” Keyamo said.
He also called on the people of Kwara State to put money politics behind them if they wanted liberation for the state, adding that Kwarans must be courageous and stand firm to liberate the state.
Speaking earlier, the Minister of Culture and Information, Alhaji Lai Muhammed, while itemising some of Buhari’s achievements in the last three years, said he was confident that the 8.5 million school pupils benefitting from the Federal Government’s school feeding programme would translate to 16 million votes for Buhari in 2019 from the parents and guardians of the beneficiaries.
While inaugurating the canvassers, Mohammed urged them to work for the success of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State and Nigeria as a whole. The minister thanked them for supporting the party.
The factional National Chairman of Labour Party (LP), Dr Mike Omotosho, promised that labour party would also deliver another 16 million votes to President Buhari in 2019.
