The Action Democratic Party (ADP) has announced its decision to give free nomination forms to women and Persons Living with Disabilities (PWDs) who are interested in contesting elections in the 2019 general elections.
ADP National Organising Secretary, Dr. Lynn Olisa, made the announcement yesterday in Abuja at the national secretariat of the party when one of the Imo State governorship aspirants, Barrister Obioma Success, picked his nomination form.
Dr. Olisa said the decision was taken to promote inclusiveness and empower the marginalised segments of the society.
Speaking yesterday at the secretariat of the party, she said her party was determined to turn around the fortunes of the country and that therefore it would be fair to all and sundry.
ADP National Secretary, Dr. James Okoroma, said the party was formed to bring about emergence of a new crop of leaders who would actualise the dreams of Nigeria’s founding fathers, and added that the party would provide a level-playing ground for all aspirants.
He expressed hope that the governorship aspirant would provide effective leadership and bring the needed change in Imo State. Barr. Success, the governorship aspirant, pledged to reconcile Imo people with God if given opportunity as the next governor.
