Globe Motors has commenced production of Hyundai and Higer commercial vehicles in its assembly plant in Lagos.
The plant, located along Eleko-Ibeju-Lekki area of Lagos, with an installed capacity of 6,000 vehicles annually, is the product of over $200m investment which Globe Motors initiated three years ago which has become a reality; churning out brand new Hyundai and Higer commercial vehicles.
The company said the capacity could be increased depending on the market demand.
Globe Motors is among the 30 local auto manufacturers accredited by the National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC) under the Nigeria Automotive Industry Development Plan (NAIDP).
Managing Director of the company, Mr. Victor Oguamalam, who spoke with reporters at the plant, said the project became a reality following tireless effort of the company to contribute its quota to the development of the auto industry in Nigeria.
