Youth group to assist indigent children

The organization was set up by young boys and girls, mostly ex-students of El-Amin International Schools Abuja and Minna, to serve as connecting points for both the rich and the poor in the society.
Speaking at a football competition, organized to source money for the realization of the organisation’s objectives, the chairperson of the NGO, Hajiya Jummai Sambo, said members of the organization, mainly children have resolved to pull their talents together in assisting the less privileged in the society.
According to her, the group places more emphasis on the education of indigent children, who do not have opportunity to access education and other basic necessities of life.
Hajiya Jummai said the group had also identified a library to be furnished at Government Secondary School Jabi, while some children said to be orphans will also be selected for educational assistance.
A member of the organisation’s board, Anjorin Omolayo, said the NGO had last year visited Gakuwa village in Abuja to teach women and youth in skill acquisition such as farming techniques, bead making and carpentry among others.
Another member of the board, Aisha Sambo, urged the youths, especially girls to be hardworking, focused, and as well help the indigents around them, adding that they don’t need to wait for when they will be gainfully employed before they can help themselves and others around them.
