The All Progressives Congress (APC) has reacted to the allegation by Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal of Sokoto State that the ruling party was keeping thugs for electioneering campaigns.
The APC, in a statement signed by its State Publicity Secretary, Sambo Bello Danchadi, said Governor Tambuwal and his party (PDP) were behind political thuggery in the state.
The party cited the death of a 23-year old man killed by a stray bullet during the recent reception in honour of the governor to justify its position.
The party also accused the governor of intimidating and threatening to sack civil servants who were sympathetic to the APC.
While dismissing the allegation, the APC reaffirmed that it has no political thugs because ‘it is a peace loving party’.
