The Yobe State Commissioner for Works, Transport and Energy, Lawan Shettima Ali, yesterday, described a group calling on him to contest the 2019 gubernatorial seat as “political blackmailers” who are out to damage his relationship with Gov. Ibrahim Gaidam.
Reacting to a publication in one of the national dailies, Ali said he was satisfied with his current position and would remain committed to the people-oriented policies of Gov. Gaidam.
“The so called endorsement by the group is not only mischievous but disingenuous and frivolous attempt to distract me from collaborating with my boss on service delivery to the people in the state,” he said.
The story, according to him, would not detract his focus and loyalty in executing the reforms currently being implemented in the state.
Shettima, therefore, called on the public, especially APC members in the state, to disregard the publication “because it was sponsored by political jobbers and speculators.”
