The organiser of the Big Brother Naija (BBN) TV reality show has said it will return it to Nigeria because it now has a Big Brother (BB) House similar to the South African type to hold the first edition.
At the briefing heralding the auditioning of housemates slated for February 1 and 2, 2019 in Lagos, the CEO of Multichoice Nigeria, John Ugbe, who was represented by the Senior Customer Officer, Martin Mabutho assured that this edition shall be of global standard with previous editions.
He said after the first BBNaija held in Nigeria, the second and third edition were in South Africa because the organizer already has in place a BB house there.
The situation is however different now because Multichoice is now constructing a BB House which would make the hosting of the show cost-effective, he explained.
“We are assuring that this will be of the same global quality we are known with. Viewership recorded like never before, breaking all barriers,” the CEO said. The Channel Director, Africa Magic, Wangi Mba-Uzoukwu said as a platform that has consistently hunt and project young potentials, the 2019 edition will not disappoint it’s teeming followers with its package this year.
“This fourth season promises to be even bigger than previous editions and underscores MultiChoice’s position as the biggest investor and driver of entertainment content on the continent,” she said.
Since its maiden edition in 2006, the Big Brother Naija reality TV show has produced a number of pop culture influencers and celebrities like Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, Gideon Okeke, Katung Aduwak, Bisola Aiyeola, Efe Ejeba and Miracle Ikechukwu.
