We didn’t aid Nnamdi Kanu’s escape — DSS

The Department of State Services (DSS) has described as malicious report alleging that five of its personnel aided the escape of the self-acclaimed leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) Nnamdi Kanu from his abode in Umuahia, Abia State in September last year.

The spokesman of the DSS, Peter Afunanya, said this in a statement yesterday.

“The Service wishes to state that the news is fake, mischievous and defamatory. It is nothing but a figment of the imagination of the originators.”

He said the DSS will not idly standby and watch some unscrupulous elements achieve their aim of disrupting the forthcoming general elections, among others.
