UK ‘saddened’ over dozens of deaths in Kaduna hamlets

The British High Commissioner to Nigeria, Catriona Laing, has expressed sadness over the killing of about 66 people in eight settlements near Maro Gida village of Kajuru LGA of Kaduna State Thursday night.

Among the victims were 22 children and 12 women.

The envoy, in a tweet via her verified twitter handle @CatrionaLaing1, sympathized with the families of the victims.

She said, “Although elections are on everyone’s mind, I was profoundly saddened to learn of over 60 deaths in Kajuru, Kaduna yesterday.

“An investigation is underway, and I understand arrests have already been made.

“My thoughts are with those who have lost loved ones in this tragic incident.”
