At the launch, the bank presented a brand new Toyota Camry Salon Car to Mr Oguike Tochukwu, the second winner of the star prize of the maiden edition of the recently concluded UBA Gunners Card promo.
At the maiden edition, lucky users of UBA Gunners Card were rewarded with brand new cards, all expense paid trips to London to watch Arsenal FC live matches at the Emirates, among other prizes.
Expressing delight at the prize, Tochukwu, a legal practitioner who said he came across the UBA card through a friend, described the award as a reward to his entire family, since UBA had been the family bank all along.
“When I was told I won, I was sceptical of the whole thing thinking it was another smart guy who wanted to play a fast one on me. But when my details were mentioned, and no condition was attached to my getting the prize, I decided to give it a trial. I should have travelled to England few days ago, but I decided to defer the journey to be able to get the prize, and I think it’s worth the trouble. I thank my father for introducing me to the bank,” Tochukwu narrated.
Speaking at the launch, Ms Rachael Mushaike, Divisional Head, Product Marketing Strategy, UBA explained that besides rewarding the current users of the UBA Gunners Card, new cardholders would be eligible to participate in the promo provided they purchased the Gunner’s Card before the final draw which will be held on October 21st, 2009.
He said it was the bank’s effort to constantly reward teeming fans of Arsenal Football Club, especially users of the UBA Gunners Debit Card, United Bank for Africa.
It would be recalled that a Lagos-based banker, Mr Obadan Agbaje, won the first Toyota Camry Salon car.
Commenting on the eligibility of the cardholders to participate in the draw, Mushaike said that the candidate needed to spend up to N30,000 using the Gunners Cash Card on a purchase at any Point of Sale (POS) terminals or ATM withdrawal from August, through September to October, 2009.
UBA has also announced the Gunners Predict and Win promo using its platform on the social network websites. To win prizes, cardholders are to predict Arsenal match scores, whenever Arsenal plays.
“The bank has launched the Arsenal Solus Page where everyone who goes to Arsenal FC website will see UBA Gunners card page which will link the card holders to the Gunners page on our website where they can download the form and view the promo flyer,” says Mushaike.
