Tribunal upholds Olujimi’s election as APC candidate sets to appeal

The National Assembly Elections Petitions Tribunal sitting in Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State, has upheld the election of Senator Biodun Olujimi, who was declared winner in the last National Assembly election.
Olujimi (Ekiti South) was the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The tribunal threw out the petition filed by the All Progressives
Congress (APC) candidate, Chief Tony Adeniyi, for lack of merit. In the judgment delivered by a member of the three-man panel, Justice P.A. Obayi, the tribunal held that Olujimi was not a public officer in the employ of the federal government as claimed by Adeniyi.
