Governor Emeka Ihedioha of Imo State has commended the judiciary for reaffirming his confidence in the judicial system.
In his reaction to the judgement of the Imo State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal, which affirmed his election as duly elected Governor of Imo State, Ihedioha said the Nigerian judiciary has once again demonstrated courage and much honour in the discharge of its constitutional duty.
In a statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary, Chibuike Onyeukwu, Ihedioha said,” For me there is no victor, no vanquished.”
Meanwhile, the APC governorship candidate in Imo state, Sen Hope Uzodimma, has urged his supporters to remain calm over judgement. In a statement signed by his Media Aide, Declan Emelumba, Uzodimma said his supporters should not despair but should be confident that Justice will be served at the end of the day
Also former governor Rochas Okorocha has debunked reports that he congratulated Ihedioha on his victory. A statement signed by his Special Adviser, Media, Sam Onwuemeodo, Okorocha said he never authored or asked anyone to author any statement congratulating Ihedioha.
