Tornadoes hold Enyimba to goalless draw

It ended goalless at the Bako Kontagora Stadium on Wednesday between Niger Tornadoes and Enyimba during the Match Day 9 of the Nigeria Professional Football League.

The match saw the home side evenly matching their visitors in almost every aspect of the game. Both teams carved out few goal scoring opportunities in Minna in what was a physical game.

The former champions whose campaign has been less than superb put out everything they had in their arsenal.

Towards the tail end of the game, Enyimba piled so much pressure, as they won several corner kicks while failing to make use of the few opportunities to score.

In Damaturu, visiting Plateau United played out another goalless draw against home side, Yobe Stars.

The away side who needed to change the tide of things after two away draws and two home draws for the season prior to this game, came out of the blocks but were unable to dim the stars of Yobe Stars.

Enyimba have dropped down to the third position on Group A with 11 points while Niger Tornadoes climbed up to eighth position while amassing 7 points.

In the same vein, Plateau United moved up the table to sixth position on 11 points while Yobe Stars dropped further down into relegation.
