The Mantis opens in Abuja

A five-star hotel, The Envoy will be commissioned for business on March 5, 2018, according to Chinwe Odife, Development Director, Hometel Developers Limited.

Speaking to newsmen in Lagos, Odife said The Envoy Hotel is not one of the regular hotels in the country but a world class, luxury hotel being managed by international renowned managers, the Mantis.

Nestled within the business hub on Diplomatic Drive, Abuja, Odife said the hotel sets a new precedent of urbane sophistication and unrivalled luxury for the distinguished traveller in Abuja.

“We have woven technological innovation into all our amenities. With world-class security, fine-dining and complimentary services such as valet parking, we are Abuja foremost destination for events,” she said.

The hotel’s General Manager, Keletso Nxumalo, described the The Envoy as a destination where culture, art and knowledge is shared.

“The creation of The Envoy is rooted in the history of the discovery of silk. The luxuriant material was coveted the world over. The first envoys journeyed the silk roads to open up borders for trade. In turn, knowledge, culture, art and religion were shared between nations. Similar to the original silk envoys, The Envoy encapsulates the quest for learning and unity”

She said The Envoy’s logo is modelled on the first imprinted coins that were used on the silk roads, Strung to the belts of the envoys, each coin carried a country’s identity to the world.

“The weekend traveller will find it difficult to experience all the delights that Abuja has to offer. Savor the sunset over Jari Lake, dance to the city’s beat at Africa’s trendiest club, stroll through Millennium Park with the sun on your back or lunch in a secluded garden restaurant. All these are within easy reach of the The Envoy”, she said

She said The Envoy is a hotel of the present for the future and has been built to operate in support of the environment.

“Diplomats, delegates and captains of industry will love The Envoy for its advanced business facilities comprising of a business centre, meeting room, secretarial services, fibre-optic WiFi throughout and iPADs on the ready – we are geared for all of our Guests’ business needs”, she said.

Mr Emile Mueller, Development and Operations, Africa and Middle East, Mantis Group said the the location of The Envoy on Diplomatic Drive guarantees a level of security in its own right as it is flanked by Embassies and astute corporate entities.

“The Envoy has taken serious measures to ensure guests’ security on the premises and has achieved a Level 2 PLUS Global Lighthouse Certification in Security as per an independent risk assessment and security audit was done in November 2017. This level of security is the most difficult to achieve as it is adjudicated on the infrastructure,” he said

“Mantis is proud to be involved in the development of The Envoy which will not only set the bar for luxury hospitality and personal indulgence in Abuja but also raise the standard of eco-sensitive hotel operations in this city. Mantis’ Legacy is one of conservation and sustainable operations which benefit stakeholders and the communities in which each Mantis experience exists,” Mueller said.
