The police in Katsina State yesterday paraded three suspected ‘money doublers’ arrested for allegedly duping unsuspecting members of the public.
Parading the suspects, the acting spokesman of the state police command ASP Anas Gezawa said the trio of Ayemuguba Dada, Ogun Moriti Ojo and Ogundipe Akin came from Ijebu Ode, Ogun State.
He said luck ran out on them when they tried to dupe one Chinedu Onoja of N94,000 with the pretence of making him a millionaire.
“Items recovered from them included 50 pieces of counterfeit 100 US dollars notes, 11 pieces of one dollar notes, charms and several other diabolical items,” he said, adding that the suspects would soon be charged to court.
Gezawa urged the populace to always be wary of dubious people and feel free to report such to security agencies for appropriate action.
