Suspected kidnapper lynched in Gwagwa

A suspected kidnapper has been lynched and two others arrested in Gwagwa, a suburb of Abuja.
Witnesses said the incident happened on Wednesday afternoon, alleging that kidnapping was becoming rampant in the area.
A resident who pleaded anonymity said three kidnappers had allegedly attempted to abduct a baby from a residence in Unguwar Keriya in the area.
A witness said the baby’s mother caught them in the act and raised alarm.
“Her shout attracted other residents who ran after the three suspected kidnappers,” the source said.
The witness added that one of the suspects was caught and beaten up so badly he died beside a mosque in the area.
The source said the corpse and two of the other suspects were taken away by the police from the Gwagwa police division.
Efforts to confirm the incident from the FCT police command’s spokesman, DSP Anjuguri Manzah, were not fruitful as he neither answered calls nor replied messages sent to his mobile phone number.
