A statement by the association’s president, Mohammed Eneji expressed worry over the level of rot in the educational system; describing the decision of the governor to rid the system of incompetent hands as appropriate.

According to the statement, quality primary education is key to breeding refined graduates, adding that education is the passport to the future.

While he called on the state government to speedily conclude the recruitment exercise of new teachers; he urged other states to emulate el-Rufai’s courage.

“It is pertinent that the basics of education be taken with utmost priority and seriousness but Nigeria’s educational system keeps declining by the day. The decision taken by the governor at this critical point of educational collapse in Nigeria is appreciated and timely,” the statement reads in part.
