Student, 15, held over killing of colleague

The police in Abuja have arrested a 15-year-old secondary school boy for allegedly killing his fellow student, who was intervening in a fight involving the accused person.
The accused, Aliyu Usman, who resides in Dakwa in Bwari Area Council of the FCT, was alleged to have stabbed the deceased, one Muhammad Jamilu, with screw driver on his forehead, which resulted to his death shortly after the incidence.
One of the teachers of the boy, who was one of the sympathisers that took the deceased to the nearby clinic before he died, told our reporter that the accused had a dispute with his fellow students in their school which led to a squabble.
The accused allegedly slapped a student involved in the fighting several times, prompting a group of six boys to trace the accused to where he was residing in the community on a vengeance mission, the teacher said.
Daily Trust further gathered that the victim rushed to intervene in the fighting only to be stabbed by the accused person on his forehead which resulted to his death.
Seven persons were reportedly arrested by the police at Zuba division, where the case was first reported. Six of them were, however, said to have been freed, leaving the suspect alone. 
When contacted, the Zuba Divisional Police Officer, Muhammad Umar, confirmed the incidence, adding that the accused had confessed to the crime before he was transferred to the FCT police command for further investigations.
