Sokoto: Why we dumped PDP – Former party officials

Members of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) in Sokoto State who  defected to All Progressives Congress (APC), said they move because of  lack of justice and fairness.

The defections were announced during the flag off of the APC Sokoto state campaigns for the 2019 general election , held at Dange –Shuni and at the party’s zonal rally for the Sokoto North Senatorial District, in Kware local government area.

At the Dange- Shuni event, those announced included PDP state Legal Adviser, Nasiru Sahabi Tambuwal, a former Special Assistant to Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, Yaro Illelar-Gajara, PDP Woman Leader in Tambuwal local government, Hajiya A’in Sokoto, former Chairman, Matawalle G-23 and  Alhaji Hamza Yeriman Shuni, among others.

Sahabi Tambuwal and Yaro Illelar-Gajara spoke on behalf of the others. They said, want for justice and fairness made them dump PDP.

They added that their defected with them.

At Kware event, the former Organizing Secretary of the PDP in the area,  Abubakar Dan-Soro, Shehu Kalalawa, Hamza Kalalawa and the Secretary of the Vigilante Group, Umar Sa’Idu were among those who defected from to APC.

Dan-Soro, who spoke on behalf of the defectors, said they left PDP due to its poor performance.

The Chairman APC Sokoto Campaign Council, Muhammadu Maigari Dingyadi, assured fairness and justice to the new party members.

He called on them to contribute their quotas towards success of the APC candidates at all levels during the forthcoming general polls.
