Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Sokoto has introduced night patrols and highway volunteer groups after road crashes killed 16 people in January alone.
The sector Commander, Muhammad Hamzat disclosed this in an interview with some journalists on the commemoration of the 30th anniversary of the agency.
He said the measures were part of strategies taken to reduce road accidents in the state.
According to him, the state recorded 15 accidents from January to date with 63 casualties.
He regretted that 16 persons lost their lives while 42 were injured during the period under review.
