Former Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister and the candidate of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ‎in the forthcoming 2019 governorship election in Bauchi State, Senator Bala Mohammed has picked Senator Baba Tela as his running mate.‎

State PDP Publicity Secretary, Yayanuwa Zainabari ‎disclosed this while speaking to our reporter in Bauchi.

He said that, Tela was chosen unanimously by the party leadership, the governorship candidate ‎and other stakeholders for his loyalty and sacrifice for the development of the party in Bauchi ‎State.

He however said that, Tela was persuaded by the party to step ‎down for the incumbent, Senator Sulaiman Nazif who joined the party after he left the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

“He had earlier wanted to contest ‎for Bauchi North Senate seat but he stepped down when the issue of giving automatic ticket to the two Senators who joined the party. That is why he was considered and picked to become our governorship candidate’s running mate,”he said.
