The Senate yesterday passed a resolution urging the Federal Government to name the Federal University, Dutse, Jigawa State after the late former Kaduna State Military Governor, Mukhtar Muhammad.
Our correspondent reports that Mukhtar, who was the chairman of Freedom Radio died in a London hospital on Sunday and was buried Wednesday.
The resolution was sequel to a motion sponsored by Senator Mohammed Sabo (APC, Jigawa) and seconded by Senator Abubakar Gumel (APC, Jigawa).
Sabo extolled the virtues of the deceased, describing him as a principled person who left the military voluntarily.
Seconding the motion, Gumel said despite the fact that the deceased was a military officer; he was a gentleman to the core.
