Yobe state governor, Ibrahim Gaidam, Yobe state governor-elect, Mai Mala Buni and Senate President hopeful, Ahmed Lawan, visited Jigawa state as part of his efforts to seek support from senators from the state to vote for Lawan during the election.
The high powered team went into a closed-door meeting with the Jigawa state governor, Muhammadu Badaru Abubakar, when he received audience in the visiting team in Dutse, the capital of Jigawa state.
Source close to the visiting team, told Daily Trust that the team was in the state to garner support for Lawan against the election of the senate leadership.

The source further told this reporter that the team was visiting states across the country with a view to campaign for Lawal’s election as the senate president.
All efforts to speak to any of the members of the visiting team proved abortive as they all declined comment.
