Senate confirms 22 commissioners for NPC

The Senate has confirmed the nominations of 22 commissioners of the National Population Commission (NPC).
The confirmation followed the adoption of the Committee on National Identity Card and National Population Commission chaired by Sen Suleiman Hunkuyi (PDP, Kaduna).
Those confirmed are Nwanne Johnny Nwabuisi (Abia), Clifford Zirra (Adamawa), Chidi Christopher Ezeoke (Anambra), Bar Isa Audu Buratai (Borno), Rtd Navy Capt Charles Iyam Ogwa (C/River), ‎Sir Richard Odibo (Delta), Okereke Darlington Onuabuchi (Ebonyi), Olusegun Aiyejina (Edo), Ejike Eze (Enugu), Abubakar Mohammed Danburam (Gombe) and Prof Uba Nnabue (Imo).
Others are Suleiman Ismaila Lawal (Kano), Prof Jimoh Habibat Isah (Kogi), Sa’adatu Ayinla Alanamu (Kwara), Nasir Isa Kwarra (Nasarawa), Bar Aliyu Datti (Niger), Yeye Seyi Olusanya (Ogun), Prince Olanadiran Iyanta (Ondo), Sen Mudasiru Oyetunde Hussain (Osun), Mrs Cecilia Arsun Depoet (Plateau), Dr Ipalibo Mcdonald Harry (Rivers) and Sale Saany (Taraba).
However, the nominee from Kaduna State, Abdulmalik Mohammed Durunguwa, was referred back to‎ the committee as the panel observed that there were issues with some of his certificates.
