The Sir Ahmadu Bello Memorial Foundation (SABMF) has called for donations toward the fight against the coronavirus pandemic in the north.
Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the foundation, Engineer Abubakar Gambo Umar, in a statement yesterday, noted the with concern the rising number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Nigeria.
While commending the efforts of the federal government’s efforts in the worst hit states of Lagos and Ogun, and the FCT, Umar called on well-meaning Nigerians to donate buildings and other material resources to serve as isolation centres in all the northern states’ capital.
He also appealed for the establishment of more testing centres in the region.
“There is need for special consideration to the plights of individuals and communities who rely on daily means of livelihood as they require food and medicines as we head towards total lockdown.
“The enormity of the COVID 19 situation is such that all hands must be on deck, to address the problem,” he added.
