Saraba Magazine debuts print edition

Saraba Magazine, a nine-year-old online literary magazine is set to release its first hard copy publication entitled Transitions, on October 2.

The cover of the magazine is designed by Ojima Abalaka, an illustrator whose work has been featured in the New York Times. There are poems by Gbenga Adesina; short stories by Suzanne Ushie, Irenosen Okojie, Abiola Oni, Eboka Chukwudi Peter, T J Benson, Amarachi Ekekwe, Hajara Hussaini Ashara, and EbeleMogo. 

There also essays by Temitayo Olofinlua, Kola Tubosun, Uche Okonkwo and Yinka Elujoba; portfolios of photographs by Ladan Osman and AyeniOlajide and an interview of Ayobami Adebayo.

The magazine will also contain works by several awardees of the Saraba Manuscript Project, and essays by participating writers of the 2016 edition of the Invisible Borders trans-Nigerian road trip.

Saraba is partnering with several institutions, including the Royal Africa Society, Africa Writes Festival, Ake Book and Arts Festival among others. 

The launch will take place in London, New York, Abeokuta, Lagos and Winnipeg.
