Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State has assured that the Lagos International trade fair and exhibitions will soon be relocated to its permanent site along the Lagos/Badagry express way.

Sanwo-Olu who spoke when he visited some pavilions at the ongoing 33rd edition of Lagos international trade fair said the move would help assuage the operational challenges faced by organisers of the fair, exhibitors and even visitors to the fair annually.

He also noted that relocated the fair to the permanent site will place it at par with other international exhibitions across the globe.

The Lagos international trade fair for several years now has been holding at the Tafawa Balewa Square on the Lagos Island due to the difficulty of connecting the permanent site following the poor state of the Lagos/Badagry road.

The governor re-assured of his administration’s commitment to raising the standard of the fair, which is believed to be the biggest in Nigeria. This year, over 2,000 local and foreign exhibitors are participating in the ongoing fair.

While he described the fair as an avenue for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to showcase their products to the world; he encouraged operators of the MSMEs not to relent in their efforts. He also commended the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) for keeping faith with MSMEs.

The governor while declaring open the China Hall at the fait, he assured Chinese investors of ample business opportunities that would be beneficial to both countries. He assured that government would continue to create an enabling environment for businesses to thrive through the provision of infrastructures and policy implementation.

In his remark, the Commercial Consul of the Consulate of the People’s Republic of China, Mr. Liu Junsheng made known that China was showcasing four fairs including the Nigeria International Textile Industry Fair, NigeriaTex; International Housewares and Gift Fair, Home Show Nigeria; the International Automotive Parts, Equipment and Service Trade Fair, AutoEquip; and the Premium Mechatronic Brands China (PBC).

The fair themed, ‘Connecting Businesses, Creating Value’ which began on November 1, 2019 is expected to come to an end on November 10, 2019.
