Belgium have defeated Brazil 2-1 after their quarterfinal encounter Friday night to qualify for the semifinals of the ongoing FIFA World Cup in Russia.
Having limped through against Japan, coming back from two goals down, they absolutely monstered Brazil during the encounter.
A stunner from Kevin de Bruyne added to Fernandinho’s own goal which was enough to see them through.
Ronato Augusto gave the Brazilians hope when he nodded home in the 76th minutes, just four minutes after coming in but Belgium goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois stood between them and their equalizer.
Roberto Martinez’s men will now have a semifinal battle with France on Tuesday.
France had earlier edged past Uruguay 2-0 in the first quarterfinal match of the day.
