Chairman of the Commission Engr. Elias Mbam in his welcome address at the first zonal public hearing organised by the Commission at the Taal Conference Centre in Lafia, Nasarawa State, for the North Central Zone, said the parley is meant to give Nigerians in all the six geo-political zones the opportunity to express their views and submit memoranda on the exercise so as to enrich its content.
Mbam expressed optimism that given the enthusiasm and mass turn out of stakeholders, the commission is now better positioned to come up with an acceptable formula that will address the demands of the different sections of the country and ultimately meet the yearnings and aspirations of ordinary Nigerians.
The event which drew participants from state and local governments, members of the public, the civil society, the mass media, the academia, women and youth groups from the North central zone, stakeholders were unanimous that the review exercise was long overdue.
