The pair performed a duet of her hit song Umbrella and Run This Town. US rapper Young Jeezy also joined her on stage for new track Hard. The one-off gig was broadcast online to an international audience by phone operator Nokia.
Rihanna recently spoke out about the attack by former boyfriend Brown which happened the night before the Grammy Awards. She said she was now “stronger and wiser” and keen to help other victims of domestic abuse.
Brown, who also has a new album out, is currently on probation after pleading guilty.
Singer Jamelia, grime star Chipmunk and X Factor evictee Jamie Archer were in the crowd for the Nokia gig at Brixton Academy. Rihanna performed tracks from her new record Rated R as well as some of her biggest hits such as Umbrella.
