The declared winner of the APC senatorial primary for Kaduna Central, Malam Uba Sani, has refuted reports that the case he filed in court restraining the party from conducting the primary election subsists.
Sani, who spoke through his counsel, Sule Shaibu, said the order had been vacated before the primary which threw him up as the party’s candidate.
The counsel said he was amazed by reports to the effect that the order subsisted at the time the primary was conducted.
He said while it was true that Sani filed an action before a Kaduna state High Court and obtained a restraining order against the APC and INEC, it was also true that the court duly vacated the order and paved the way for the conduct of the primary.
He said it was saddening that those who were expected to know were saying things that were contrary to the reality on ground.
The counsel said Sani went to court believing that his rights were being infringed and was being unduly disenfranchised after exhausting all available internal mechanisms for redress.
