Residents decry incessant attacks by criminals

A resident, Mr. Clement Nnadi, said the high rate of robbery attacks, especially in the night is becoming worrisome as residents now live in fear.
Mr. Clement said he was attacked while returning from a church on Sunday close to his house and that the criminals robbed him with short guns and threatened to shoot him if he raised alarm.
He said the robbers were young, less than 20 years of age.
Another victim, Mama Ada, a plantain seller, said she was returning from Karmo on Friday when a taxi she boarded diverted to Lento Aluminium area and the driver robbed her of her money, handsets and jewelries before pushing her off the car.
She pleaded with the FCT police command to increase the presence of police patrol team in the area.
The woman also advised the Life Camp police division to collaborate with the vigilante group in the area of crime fighting and prevention.
When contacted, Life Camp Divisional Police Officer, Deputy Superintendent NgoziUbani, said no incident of robbery was reported at her station and that the division is doing everything within its power to fight crime in the area.
