Professionals in the building industry have resolved to work for the prioritizing of energy efficiency in modern buildings.
They expressed this in a communique issued after a training organized by the Foundation for Partnership Initiatives in the Niger Delta (PIND) as part of the Appropriate Technology Enabled Development (ATED) project for an energy efficiency in buildings training for lecturers from five various universities in the Niger Delta which held in Warri, Delta State.
One of the master trainers, Abbas Muazu of Quantumpro limited, who spoke at the occasion, explained that the crossover between energy efficiency and sustainability was the building sector’s response to climate change mitigation and adaptation.
Muazu further emphasised the need for continuous professional development within the industry to ensure energy efficiency.
The training drew participants from the Federal University of Technology Akure, Ambrose Alli University Ekpoma, University of Benin, Abia State University and the Rivers State University of Science and Technology.
