Presidency tackles Olujimi over claim on SIP

The Presidency has faulted the claim by Senator Biodun Olujimi that the Social Investment Programme (SIP) of the federal government was being used to advance the 2019 political aspiration of President Muhammadu Buhari.

Reacting to Olujimi’s allegation, the Presidential Adviser on Social Investment, Maryam Uwais said Olujimi should provide forms where “I stand with Buhari” were written.

“I don’t know which form she is talking about, I will like to know so that those people can get arrested. There is no how we will politicise what is meant to alleviate poverty.

“Our leaders have trained us. Poverty does not know religion, poverty does not know ethnicity and poverty does not know political affiliation. We have deliberately created a level playing field for the beneficiaries of our programme,” she said.

She also denied the claim that the PVC of beneficiaries of the SIP are being requested, insisting that “we don’t issue forms.”
