According to the FCT police spokesperson, Deputy Superintendent Hyelhira Altine Daniel, the vehicle with registration number KUJ 444 AH was snatched from one John Udoka while he was trying to enter his house in Kubwa.
The police spokesperson added that unknown to the victim; he was accosted by three armed gun men while he was about driving into his house. The men, she said, pointed a gun at him and went away with his car.
“Immediately the incident happened, it was instantly reported and our men were alerted to be on the watch out for the said car. Then our men at Zuba, who were on patrol, chased the car having sighted it. The occupants of the car after noticing the grave situation, abandoned the vehicle and fled,” she stated.
She however reiterated the commitment of the police in fighting crime in the territory and urged residents to be watchful when driving and report any strange persons or objects to the nearest police station.
