The Katsina State Police Command has arrested 10 armed robbery suspects and recovered three guns and six ammunition cartridges in two operations. The command’s spokesman DSP Gambo Isah said in a statement that the robbers have for long been terrorizing the state.
He said, five of them – Ibrahim Abubakar (aka Mallam), Abdulrahaman Usman (aka Bagiwa), Muhammed Sabi’u (aka DK) all of Batagarawa Low Cost; Mustapha Abubakar (aka Na-Baba) and Buhari Sani (aka ‘Yar-Baha) of Rahamawa quarters in Katsina – were arrested over the attack on the residence of one Mrs. Annah J. Wali of behind Batagarawa Low Cost, Katsina State.
“They robbed her at gun point and dispossessed her of the following items: N90,000 cash, GSM handsets valued N47,000, gold jewelleries valued N300,000, plasma TV and video game valued N93,000,” he said
He said, during the course of investigation, the suspects led police detectives to an uncompleted building where one automatic pump action rifle with the three live cartridges and one brownie pistol were recovered. He said the suspects also confessed to have robbed one Alhaji Bishir Yar’aduwa of Batagarawa Low Cost at gun point and stole unspecified amount of money, gold jewelleries and other valuables.
