The police in Benue State have gunned down a suspected armed robber in Tse Pevkyaa, Ngban village in Guma Local Government Area of the state. Police spokesman for Benue command, Moses Joel Yamu, said yesterday in Makurdi that the patrol teams deployed by the Benue State Commissioner of Police, CP. Ene Okon, to Makurdi-Lafia road over reported cases of robbery yielded the results.
Yamu said, “It was on 11/11/2018 at about 2:00am when a team of patrol men encountered these men of the underworld at Tse Pevkyaa, Ngban village in Guma LGA. One of the armed bandits dressed in military camouflage uniform, later identified as Badoo was gunned down while others escaped with gun injuries.” He urged the people of that area and environs where the suspect was felled to report any one seen with serious wounds to the nearest police point/station.
He added that the FSARS patrol team recently arrested one Aondowase Emberga, a member of a six-man gang, also dressed in military camouflage uniform after exchange of gunfire with the police along Makurdi-Lafia road.
