The Plateau Police Command has arrested 16 suspects over armed robbery, criminal conspiracy, rape, culpable homicide, criminal intimidation and causing hurt, among other crimes in the last one month in the state.
Mr Issac Akinmoyede, the Commissioner of Police in the state, said this while presenting the suspects to journalists on Wednesday in Jos.
According to him, the suspects were arrested by officers and men of the command following intelligent reports.
“The command has successfully received and investigated cases of culpable homicide, armed robbery, rape, criminal intimidation, causing hurt, among others, within the period under review.
“In all these cases, we have arrested 16 suspects who have direct link to committing the various offences,” he said.
Akinmoyede said the suspects would be charged to Court as soon investigations were concluded, to enable justice take its full course on them.
The police chief called on the residents of the state to continue to be law abiding and desist from any act capable of breaching the existing peace being enjoyed in the state.
He expressed optimism that the officers and men of the command would not rest on their oars in safeguarding lives and property in the state. (NAN)
