Eight youths have been allegedly killed by the police in Jalingo, Taraba state capital while 14 others were shot on the legs.
The police, it was gathered allegedly opened fire on the rampaging youths around Gadan Boboji and Jalingo main market.
A source who would not like his name mentioned told Daily Trust that he saw bodies of the youths killed being taken away by the police.
The spokesperson of Taraba police command, ASP David Misal, said he could not verify the allegation yet but promised to get back to our reporter tomorrow.
"I’m not officially briefed on this, l will find out and let you know if it is true or not that some youths got killed by tomorrow morning," Misal said.
Meanwhile most streets around Jalingo main market have been deserted as the police patrolled the metropolis.
