Pastor arrested for attempting to kill church member

A pastor, identified as Delight Arinze Okorie, who allegedly attempted to kill his female member in order to steal her Lexus jeep was at the weekend arrested by the police in Imo State.
The Police Public Relations Officer of the state command, Deputy Superintendent Andrew Enwerem, disclosed this to newsmen in Owerri.
He said the pastor of the Water Ground Ministry in Njaba LGA had prophesied to the female member, one Miss Chioma Oleka, that she was possessed by a water spirit which must be cast out for her to enable her get married.
The pastor, after giving the prophesy, allegedly lured the woman to Nwangele River in Nwangele LGA supposedly for deliverance.
They were said to have driven to the river in the woman’s jeep.
 The PPRO said while the deliverance was going on, the pastor allegedly pushed Miss Oleka into the river to drown.
He said but as Oleka did not drown, the pastor rushed back to the car and came back with a cutlass which he inflicted cuts on her.
He also said because of the injuries she sustained, the woman fainted and that the pastor then zoomed off with the Lexus jeep with Reg No KPR234 HF to an unknown place.
He said the woman was found by the police attached to Nwangele police division, who took her to a hospital.
 The PPRO said after intensive investigation and manhunt, the pastor was apprehended at Orlu with the woman’s jeep.
 He told newsmen that the pastor had already made confessions, blaming his action on the devil.
