Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun has set up a committee to review the last-minute appointments, installations and promotions of 75 traditional rulers by the immediate past governor, Ibikunle Amosun.
The committee is chaired by the Olu of Ilaro and paramount ruler of Yewaland, Oba Kehinde Olugbenle.
Amosun had appointed 75 monarchs in a swoop barely two weeks to the end of his tenure.
In a statement yesterday by his Chief Press Secretary, Kunle Somorin, the governor asked the committee to identity all the obas and chiefs whose appointments or promotions fell within the period under review as contained in the recent resolution of the Ogun State House of Assembly.
The committee is also mandated to determine, on a case-by-case basis, whether such appointment or promotion is in accordance with extant laws of the state and due process; identify and address any other issue(s) relevant to its assignments and make appropriate recommendations as deemed necessary to the government.
