A telecommunication company, Airtel Nigeria, has donated an Information Communication Technology (ICT) centre to Imodi – Ijebu community in Odogbolu Local Government Area of Ogun State.
The newly refurbished ICT centre was inaugurated by Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun.
Abiodun commended the intervention by Airtel, saying the ICT centre would drive development at the grassroots level.
The governor, who was represented by the Secretary to State Government, Tokunbo Talabi, added that the provision of the ICT centre will make the people of the community also participate in some of the technology programmes of the government such as job-portal, anchor borrowers, among others.
He said, “I want to really commend two groups of people; Airtel for coming here and the people here for being able to attract Airtel. I am happy that an institution like Airtel can support us; I pray the value we get from here surpasses the vision.”
Managing Director of Airtel Nigeria, Segun Ogunsanya hinted that over 2m Nigerians had benefited from the telecommunication company programme tagged, ‘Airtel touching lives’.
