Nigeria’s Youth and Sports minister, Sunday Dare has been honoured by his kinsmen in recognition of his appointment as a Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and enviable modest achievements since assumption of duty.
Dare was honoured by the Ogbomosho Ajisegiri Progressive Club, Abuja Branch in a colourful event which took place at the National Merit House Maitama, Abuja on Friday.
In his address, Dare Minister profusely thanked President Muhammadu Buhari for allowing him to serve and for bringing his Fatherland Ogbomoso to the centre stage.
While describing the literal meaning of Ajisegiri as Wake up and move quickly; he stated that “Ogbomoso is always at the forefront when it comes to national and state development and will continue to play that role in nation building”.
Speaking further, Hon. Dare appreciated and thanked the staff of the Ministry for their support stressing that the award is not for him alone but for the team spirit of the staff which has always spurred him to work hard.
In his remark, the Chairman of the occasion Otunba Alao Akala, a former Oyo State Governor ably represented by Air vice Marshal Bolaji Adigun Rtd, said, “it’s a great thing to recognise eminence in high places that way, you encourage people to do more”.
He commended the minister for doing exceedingly well since his appointment as the Federal Minister for Youth and Sports Development.
