Absence of a principal prosecution witness has stalled continuous hearing in the trial of the five suspected armed robbers allegedly involved in the April 5, 2018, armed robbery in Offa, Kwara State.
The five accused persons: Ayoade Akinnibosun, Ibikunle Ogunleye, Adeola Abraham, Salahudeen Azeez and Niyi Ogundiran, are standing trial on a three-count charge of criminal conspiracy, culpable homicide and armed robbery.
When the case came up for hearing before Justice Haleema Salman of the Kwara State High Court on Thursday, Prosecution Counsel, Prof. Wahab Egbewole, said the security crisis in Zamfara had prevented the prosecution witness to be in Ilorin for the case.
The case was thereafter adjourned to June 6 and 7, 2019, for continuation.
