NSUK: Students get new queen

She won the star prize of a new Peugeot 307 car.
Miss Fatima Suleiman, a 300-level Business Administration student, emerged as the first runner up at pageant and was presented a 50-inch LG television while the second runner up, Miss Sanasi Nancy Madaki, 300-level Theatre and Cultural Studies student won a 2500 volt Tiger generator.
Speaking at the occasion, the President of the Nasarawa State University Directors of Socials Forum (NSUDSF), Mr. Sunday Baba, a 400-level Accounting students, explained that, “Miss NSUK is to live a simple and exemplary life to serve as a role model to students. She is the representative of this university in Nigeria, Africa and the world at large and we expect a lot from her.”
On the event, he said, “I have passion for entertainment, sports and politics and I am interested in bringing out potentials and promoting talent in young people. We organised this occasion to foster social activities on campus and to enhance good relationship between staff and students who come from different faculties of NSUK.”
Speaking in an interview, the new students’ Queen, Agnes Tawai, said she plans to organise programmes that will boost students’ performance academically, socially and morally.
She said her interest is women and children’s development, especially the less privileged.
Auwal is a 300-level Mass Comm. student at NSUK.
