NSCDC to intensify surveillance in Kaduna

In order to tackle criminal activities during and after the yuletide period, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kaduna State Command, said it has deployed over 3000 personnel to all the nooks and crannies of the state, cutting across the 23 local government areas.
At a press briefing in Kaduna, the state Commandant of NSCDC, Alhaji Modu Bunu, said the personnel have been well briefed on the modus-operandi that will ensure water-tight security, adding that people should avoid crowded places which are not properly secured as they prepare for the New Year celebration.
“The Kaduna State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps has put measures in place to tackle criminal activities generally and to provide security during the New Year celebration. In order to ensure hitch-free celebration, we have deployed over 3000 personnel comprising of armed and unarmed operatives in all the nooks and crannies of the state. The personnel have been well briefed on the modus-operandi and they are to ensure water-tight security through a 24-hour patrols and surveillance in all the 23 local government areas.
“They are to guarantee adequate protection of lives and properties of all residents. To achieve the desired results, however, we are calling on the public to ensure timely report of suspected acts and persons in their domain for swift response. Our personnel will provide the needed security atmosphere and will perform well if ugly incidences are reported to them timely. I want to however warn the members of the public to avoid crowded areas like parks and other recreational centres, especially unsecured ones,” he said.
Bunu also implored parents and guardians to caution their wards against indulging in criminal acts and other social vices, pointing out that criminals will be smoked out from their hideouts and offenders will be arrested and sanctioned accordingly.
